Domestic USA Projects

Fusselman & Wofcamp Plays, West Texas

For privately held clients, evaluation of 220,000 acre ranch in the Delaware Basin including 330 square miles of 3D seismic and historical well control.  Developed 16 well, 100 BCF potential structural prospect from Paleozoic (Fusselman) carbonate reservoir and 300 well drilling program for Wolfcamp sands recognized and mapped on 3D seismic. Conducted full project assessment, economics and assistance in finding joint venture drilling partners.  Currently seeking joint venture partners to drill on the 20,000 acre lease position already established.

Deep Bossier Trend, East Texas

For privately held clients, evaluation of 365 square mile 3D located in the heart of the Deep Bossier gas play in Leon County, Texas.  Developed multiple drilling targets resulting in lease acquisiton of 3,500 acres on the first prospect.  Ongoing work is focused on developing the shallower oil potential recognized in the Eagleford/Woodbine section as well as development of techniques to directly map reservoir quality porosity in the Glen Rose sequence.  Currently seeking joint venture partners to further develop lease play mapped with 3D seismic.

Deep Bossier Prospect, East Texas

For privately held clients, developed drillable prospect using 65 square mile 3D survey located on trend with the prolific John Amoruso and Hilltop Resort Fields in Leon and Robertson Counties, Texas.  Technical work resulting in the leasing of 3,400 acres and drilling a 19,500' wildcat well to extend the proven trend 15 miles to the northeast of proven fields.

Lodgepole Reefs, Williston Basin, North Dakota

Ecomomic and geological evaluation utilizing a unique application of surface mapping techniques in the pursuit of prolific reef targets overlying the Bakken shale play in North Dakota.  Evaluation resulting in client joining to drill three wildcat wells based on this unique technology.

Barnett Shale Play, North Texas

Evaluation of 15,000 acre client leasehold including the correlation and mapping of well control and 2D seismic in support of a 65 square mile 3D scheduled to be acquired over area of interest in southern Erath County.

Cotton Valley-Haynesville Shale Play, No. Louisiana

For publically held client, evaluation of 20,000 acre leasehold located in the Louisiana side of the EastTexasBasin.  This evaluation included petrophysical evaluation of six client drilled wells, mapping of all offset well control and a reserve report for the acreage holding.  dB has also provided technical assistance to the client in support of presentations to various investment institutions to secure additional development funding.  Ongoing support of client to recommend intervals for completion and to update reserve reports.

Cotton Valley/Bossier Play, East Texas

Evaluation of four producing properties included in $100 million private placement for investment banking client.  Project review included over 450 separate properties utilizing the economic models provided by Ryder Scott in PhD Win format.  Provided the client with independent reserve opinion letter and ongoing support of client in presentations with potential investors.

Coal Bed Methane, SE Kansas

For publicly held client, evaluated 125,000 acre lease position, 200 producing wells.  Starting from scratch, built digital project including the compilation of all subsurface information, perforations, well logs and lease position.  Mapped the net coal thickness for eight coals in the Cherokee Group.  Provided technical and mapping support to DeGoyler and MacNaughton for client reserve report.

Ouachita Thrust Play, West Texas

Evaluation of regional well control, gravity, magnetics, surface geomorphology and 650 miles of 2D seismic in support of clients 100,000+ acre lease play.  Play evaluation includes EUR reserve studies on producing fields, structural and stratigraphic mapping from well control integrated with seismic, field studies of key producing field analogs and technical and presentation support to client seeking exploration investment.

Arkoma Basin 3D, SE Oklahoma

Mapping of 65 square mile 3D survey located in the Arkoma Basin of SE Oklahoma.  Evaluation included integration of over 1,500 wells within the survey boundaries.  Provide client with drilling recommendations for structural prospects and areas of interest for unconventional gas development in the Caney and Woodford shale plays within the 3D area.

Eugene Island Block 294, Gulf of Mexico

For publicly held client, evaluated 3D seismic data volume on Block 294 to identify and qualify drilling opportunities from producing platform.  Recommended drilling of four new wells based on structural mapping and Direct Hydrocarbon Indicator analysis of the 3D data volume.  Full cycle economic model was constructed to allow client to test various economic assumptions and gas pricing scenarios.

East Cameron Block 71/72, Gulf of Mexico

For privately held client, evaluated 3D seismic data volume in support of reserve report meeting SEC reporting standards.  Evaluation included integration of existing producing wells, workover and recompletion opportunities in addition to determination of exploratory potential.

Unconventional Gas Development, Cherokee Platform, SE Oklahoma

For publicly held client, evaluated reserve value of existing oil and gas production and the potential of an emerging unconventional shale gas project southeastern Oklahoma. Client requested that a reserve report meeting SEC reporting standards be produced which included full cycle development economics and an interactive economics model which could be used to test various economic assumptions and gas pricing scenarios in support of a option to purchase existing production and 14,600 acres of exploratory leasehold.  Starting with a database containing over 250,000 wells, dB evaluated both regional and local potential as requested by the Client.  Detailed reserves were classified under SEC reporting standards for the twenty seven wells considered for purchase.  Client determined that reserve value did not meet the asking price for the properties under consideration.
